About St. Anastasia the Great Martyr
St. Anastasia was born into a noble Roman family to a pagan father and a Christian mother. St. Anastasia, rejecting the advances and propositions of the pagans, instead spent her time practicing the corporal works of mercy as a secret Christian. Eventually widowed, she spent her inheritance helping the poor and ministering to the imprisoned. Eventually discovered, she was martyred for her faith in 304 A.D. Her feast day is December 22nd.
