Interested in becoming a member of our community but don’t know where to start or what to do? No problem – we know it came sometimes seem like an ambiguous process compared to most Roman Catholic or Protestant communities. Rest assured, it’s not all that complicated:
- If you are seeking God and a community, and you do not fall into any of the descriptions below, please come and pray with us at the liturgy and spend some time with folks around the Church afterward. When you’re ready, simply speak to the Pastor or one of the deacon/deacon candidates about exploring the Byzantine faith.
- If you’re Roman Catholic, and just want to worship in the ancient liturgy of the East, there’s nothing you need to do except be present at liturgy. If you are interested in changing ritual churches, that is a bit more of a process, but not all that uncommon. Please speak to the Pastor or one of the deacons/deacon candidates to find out more.
- If you are a Baylor University student we encourage you to Come and See! In addition to growing in our Byzantine Community, we also encourage you to build community and your faith-life by speaking to our bi-ritual presbyter Fr. Henry Finch, who is the rector at the St. Peter Catholic Student Center. He can connect you with opportunities taking place on campus!
- If you are Eastern Orthodox or Oriental Orthodox, all you need to do is come and worship with us, and talk to the Pastor when you are ready to join the community.
- If you are a member of a Protestant community, simply speak with one of the deacon candidates and we can begin an individualized plan of prayer, study, and doctrine so you can discern appropriately and ready yourself for the Heavenly Banquet!
If you would like to register as a member, please complete the form below, or email wacobyzantine@gmail.com, or complete the printable form and give it to one of the deacon candidates:
